For The Love Of January
So… on January 7th I started the Whole30 program with my Crossfit Gym. Now before you stop reading and give me the blah, blah, blahs let’s talk about it. My gym has done nutrition programs before, I have not participated because I eat Paleo light. I say Paleo light but I’m not a psychopath about following the rules, if I want a burger on a bun, I have a freaking burger on a bun. I also go in an out of counting Macros, but that’s when I feel like I’m not consuming enough food to go through my workouts; that’s a whole other post…. In October I had surgery that caused me to sit down and do nothing for 3 months. I sat, I ate, and drank all things for 3 months; when I went back to the gym I thought it would be easy to jump right back into things. WRONGGGGGGG. My whole being hurt, my teeth hurt and I was the most inflexible I have ever been since coming being birthed…. My body seemed to have aged 60 years in 3 months. The gym announced a nutrition challenge for 30 days to detox and reset. I decided what the hell? Let me join in the fun and see what happens. Well, you want to know what has happened? I have become a Whole30 fanatic, like totally obsessed with finding recipes to make and making up my own recipes. I love to cook, but I took it to a new level with Whole30 so I started to document my food journey on Instagram. Somewhere through my January process I found a renewed love and regained my admiration for eating whole foods and how we can use them to fuel our bodies, but also delight our feeble tongues.
